Things I learned along the way #8   Robbie and Roberta Smyth of Louisville Ky. had never missed a Derby day in all the years  they have been together.  Roberta's father raised her like a Tom boy on his Lexington Farm. She could ride and love to race with the best of them. Having learned from their guide Jose, that it was indeed Derby day in San Jose they raced north to watch and be part of this spectacular event. everyone was on their feet as "Lighting Jack" crossed the finish line 3 lengths ahead of the favorite" reckless rose". Even  Jack seemed proud of the win.
