La Puerta Negra Ristorante Italiano
…..or better known to all as (Alberto’s)…. No matter, who you talk with or where you go in Zancudo, all you would have to say is “Where is Alberto’s Ristorante?” and you would be shown the way. It’s on the main road (I don’t know why I said that there is only one road) across from the small grocery story, behind his house and surrounded by his garden, is a small patio with four of five tables, this is Alberto’s Ristorante. The down stairs of his home, has been converted into and old style Italian kitchen, and the garden and patio, in to his dinning room.
This is where you can enjoy some of the best
Italian food and music anywhere in the area.
If you should
ask
Alberto what his passions in life are,
he
will tell
you “Good
Dogs,
Bad
Women,
and Old
Music.”
I would like to add one more, his passion for cooking. Not only is his kitchen
designed around it, but also his garden, growing many of his own herbs and
peppers right behind the house. And what brings many people back over and over
again is, the laughter and stories, combined with Northern Italian style
cooking, and then, throw in a large measure of the best old music in the area.
And if you are in luck, maybe on a slow night, he will bring down his guitar and
play for himself, to the amazement of everyone around him.
Then you have Alberto’s. I probably could go on and on, but I couldn’t tell you anymore then I already have. No way, would I go home to Zancudo, without at least one visit to La Puerta Negra (Alberto’s).
PS If go there tell him Sam sent you.
