Fishing reports from Playa Zancudo

Greetings from Playa Zancudo!
Over the last few days we practically wore out all our filet knifes – the
fishing has been the hottest of the season yet!
Among our recent guests were Pat Mullee from Cincinnati, and Pat Gleason from
Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and the DeMase clan Jim, Barbara, Nick and John
from
Albany, NY.
All enjoyed a week of splendid summer weather with fantastic fishing.
The catch included over 30 sailfish, more than a dozen Yellow Fin Tuna, the
largest of which weighed in at around one hundred pounds, and too many Dorado to
count.
A high point of the fishing for the DeMase’s was being surrounded by thousands
of Dolphin, while reeling in one Tuna after the next. Jim and Barbara also
enjoyed a wonderful day of ‘in-shore’ fishing, which saw them catch their first
ever Rooster Fish, as well as a prize Pargo [Red Snapper] of about 30 pounds.
The DeMases opted to stay at one of our Beach Front Rental Houses, and they were
absolutely thrilled with their accommodations: there’s nothing quite like ‘going
home’ after an action packed day on the water, and having a special dinner
served by our staff on their veranda while watching a crimson sun sink into the
Pacific.
Barbara made special mention of their ‘guest pet’ around the house – a
green iguana – and she’d like us to believe that the little fellow matured to a
twenty pound baby dragon under her care and feeding.
As a sideline, Jim and
Barbara were our very first guests when Arena Alta Sport Fishing started
operations, and it was most gratifying to host them again three years later.
Jim promised to write a little chapter on their stay with us, and we’re looking
forward to share his impressions of fishing with Arena Alta Sport Fishing in a
future ‘Update’.

Other News
Although we’re still at the peak of this years’ season, we’re working on some
ambitious long term expansion plans. On the drawing board are additional air
conditioned cabinas, a swimming pool, new four stroke engines for all our boats,
and the possible addition of a diesel inboard powered boat.
Our short term expansion projects include completion of a ‘tropical garden’ here
on the grounds; a new maintenance facility; additional docks; an expansion of
our mooring facility to accommodate the growing number of larger vessels; and
more Golf Carts to keep pace with the growing demand for this popular ‘local
transportation’.

In closing, we would be remiss not to remind all you parents: Graduation Day is
rapidly approaching! Surely, there is SOME reason to celebrate: If not the
‘summa cum laude’ laurels earned by your progeny……..well………why not consider to
send them ‘out of your house’ on a fishing trip to Costa Rica, to have them get
acquainted with life on their own?
One little email to Stefan at
reservations@costaricasailfish.com gets the ball rolling on that very special
surprise; make it a point to mention our “Graduation Special” and Stefan will
fire you back a special package quote that’s easy on your pocket book!
Till next time,
Tight Lines,
Dar
