 Zancudo Restaurants

             Oceano Cabinas Restaurant 

                                                                                                             The Oceano Cabinas (in my humble opinion) is in a category by itself.

It’s always been my feeling that everyone does something special, but no-one does everything special. Oceano (Mark and Stephanie) have found away around this unwritten rule. I really believe these two would be a success at what every the put their minds to, with hard work, long hours and an amazing attention to detail, they have found a menu, style, and quality that is completely their own. The restaurant sits on the main road in the center of the village. (OK!! I will tell you this one more time, there is only ONE road.)  And it is an outdoor café, restaurant, and ice cream parlor with a thatched roof all rolled into one, on a dirt road, and some how spotlessly clean.

The menu runs from soups and salads, hamburgers, BLT’s with their own twist and  mounds of fries for lunch and an even larger selection for dinner, from Jumbo shrimp to beef tenderloin and everything in between. Once again I’m not even going to make a suggestion on what to order, because what ever it is, you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I don’t know if Mark can cook and with Stephanie I don’t care, she doesn’t have to. (This is the great part of getting older, you can say all these neat things and they just say “listen to that old fool”.) They have an excellent staff, both in and out of the kitchen, who believe, that not only does the meal have to taste right, it has to look right, in every detail.                                         

Now for something different! I’ve had a friend proof-read some of these articles and she says everything can’t be that good; there must be something negative about some of these restaurants. So!!! Here it is, let the cards fall where they may.  Oceano Restaurant has the hardest stools I have ever sat on in my life. There, I said it. But this may be their master plan to keep me from loitering.
