Iguana Verde Cabinas and Restaurant:

Iguana Verde Cabinas and Restaurant: I must admit I have only been frequenting Iguana Verde, for the last couple years. But even in that short period of time I have seen a lot of improvement. The restaurant and cabinas are managed by Andy and his lovely assistant Margo. They have improved the menu and changed their hours to fit the most popular times of day. Also, they are open for breakfast, something hard to find on this end of the beach.

Iguana Verde Playa ZancudoFor myself I try to stop for breakfast whenever they are open. They serve a good solid breakfast (eggs any way you want them, bacon ham, French toast to name a few) with out a lot of frills, and great coffee.  However for my money the best improvement is the addition of Margo. In just a few short months she has won the respect and has charmed everyone on the beach, with her contagious smile and determined attitude. Plus she’s just so darn cute. (Like I said before, it’s one of the few perks of growing older, you get to say these kinds of things and get away with it.)  The restaurant and bar is a large, open air, thatch cover rancho, with hard wood floor and surrounded by palms and flowers. They also have 3 well appointed cabinas, and you are not going to believe this THEY ARE ON THE MAIN ROAD (and get this they even have A/C, for the wimps out there.)

(Who ever said, living in paradise was going to be easy) In conclusion,Iguana Verde Playa Zancudo I have to mention one thing, which confuses me. They have a volleyball court? (There are three in town that I know of. Sol Y Mar has  one but, it doubles as a horse-shoe pit.) Now! I have never seen or heard of anyone in Zancudo, drunk or sober, playing volleyball. I could be wrong, and there could be a night time volleyball league that I’m not aware of. Come-on, its 85-to 90 degrees everyday! If you throw a volleyball out on the grass, the children would take down the net for you, divide it in half, and start an all day soccer game in under ten minutes. To me and my  untrained eye, it looks like a great place to put a couple of shade trees and a hammock and maybe a cooler. But, I could be wrong.
