Manolo’s Bar Sussy:

This is one of the hardest places for me to write about, because it is, in my mind, my home away from home. So! I will tell you a little of what I like, and let you come to your own conclusion. Bar Sussy, is a two story bock building, with iron bars and a concrete floor, in the center of town, on a dirt road. (Now at least you know if you’re in the right place or you could just look at the sign) Manolo’s Bar Sussy is to me, the embodiment of everything I like about Zancudo. It is a combination, with no distinction, for young and old, rich or poor, happy or sad, where everyone is known by there first name and what you have done in the past or going to do, is your own business. Where you are as likely to see someone showing off their newborn child, as you would, 4 or 5 old guys playing air-guitar and sing old Chuck Berry songs late on Saturday afternoon. This is Bar Sussy, where you can learn how to laugh at yourself or listen to all the old stories in four different languages.

do you live? “Across the road from Bar Sussy, it’s a five minute walk, from Bar
Sussy.”) This is Bar Sussy, and it run by a true gentle man by the name of
Manolo, for without Manolo, it would be just a block building on the side of the
Zancudo road. He and his Bar Sussy, without trying to, are probably the best
known people and places in the area. Wither you are lost or found, need
directions or just a suggestion, (“Tom no more rum.”) he is always there to
help. So! Once again I could go on and on but I couldn’t tell any more then I
already have. I‘m sure after you have visited Zancudo you will have a much
better description. So, stop in and ask for Tom and we will have a beer or maybe
(one little) rum. And we will talk of, Zancudo, Good Dogs, Bad Women, and Old
Music. And then maybe we will have (one more) little rum. From the
Zancudo road. Tom
